November 19th in Shenzhen High-tech Fair, high technology projects and cultural creative industry were in full bloom and presented with high lights, especially
the Edinburgh Innovation Showcasing Seminar which attracted attention of numerous industry public figures.
Although it was the first time for the City of Edinburgh Council to attend Shenzhen High-Tech Fair, the reward was relatively large. The technology and innovation projects from Edinburgh received much attention of the enterprises in related industry. Meanwhile, Edinburgh technology & innovation enterprises also proclaim their strong interest in Shenzhen.

Edinburgh Innovation Showcasing Seminar was hosted by the City of Edinburgh Council, getting strong support from Shenzhen municipal government, China Business Network, British Embassy in China and so on. Edinburgh is a highly innovative city with thriving high-tech and innovative industry. ATM machine, closestool, refrigerator, bicycle, penicillin, telegram, golf, thermos flask and so on are all invented by Scotches.
Councillor Frank Ross of the City of Edinburgh Council who visited Shenzhen for the first time, was deeply impressed with this event. He thought that there were resemblances between Shenzhen and Edinburgh in creative industry, and there were much worthy to learn from each other, the investment cooperation was promising. He said that the cooperation process of industry incubator between Shenzhen and Edinburgh would be accelerated.

Shenzhen and Edinburgh work closely in business and research of innovation and culture. Edinburgh and Shenzhen have developed a close relationship in the recent years, particularly through the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of joint Creative Industry Incubation Centres, which was signed last year. In addition to furthering the collaborative work on creative incubation space in Shenzhen, this visit provides companies from Edinburgh with the opportunity to undertake discussions with potential Shenzhen partners and investors.
