China-Ecuador Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum successfully held in Beijing

China - Ecuador Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum was held in Beijing on December 11. Ecuadorian President Lenín Moreno attended the event during his visit to China. 
 
Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gao Yan and other high officials from Ecuador’s government, such as Mr. José Samuel Valencia Amores - Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pablo José Campana Sáenz - Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Mr. Richárd Ivan Martinez Alvarado – Minister of Economy, Mr. Larrea Dávila Carlos Humberto - Ecuadorian Ambassador to China attended the forum as well. Chen Zhou, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), moderated the forum.

Ms. Gao Yan addressed the opening speech,
saying that Ecuador is China’s comprehensive
strategic partner. 
Mr. Richárd Ivan Martinez Alvarado briefed
the participants about Ecuador’s investment projects and relevant policies.
 
 
 Mr. Pablo José Campana Sáenz introduced the investment environment in Ecuador and expressed the warm welcome to Chinese investors.
 
Mr. Pablo José Campana Sáenz emphasized the huge potential of the investment in Ecuador. He said that Ecuador is much keen on attracting investment into their infrastructure, high technology,  industrial parks, and tourism sector. In the meantime, he expressed his confidence that Ecuador can provide Chinese enterprises with a better environment to operate businesses, so as to achieve win-win results.

Representatives of Chinese and Ecuadorian companies shared experience in business cooperation at the gala dinner.
 
China is now Ecuador\'s second-largest trade partner after the United States, with bilateral exchange amounting to 4.62 billion U.S. dollars during the first 10 months of 2018, which marks a year-on-year increase of 36.6 percent. China exports machinery, automobiles, iron and steel to Ecuador while importing crude oil, bananas and aquaculture products from the South American country.
