Paramount's 'Allied' Secures Chinese Investment

Huahua Media also invested in the studio's 'Jack Reacher' sequel and 'Star Trek Beyond.'

For its upcoming WWII period film Allied, Paramount studios has secured an investment from Huahua Media.

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in the Robert Zemeckis-directed drama, which hits theaters on Nov. 23.

Huahua is becoming a regular international partner for the Hollywood studio. The Beijing-based company also co-invested in the Chinese marketing of Star Trek Beyond and in the upcoming Jack Reacher sequel. The company also helped with the Chinese marketing for Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Allied will be Huahua's first sole investment venture with the studio.

Beyond has grossed $66 million at the Chinese box office since its early September release, while 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction crossed the $300 million mark at the box office in China.
