Brief:According to the State Minister, the progress of Chinese investment in the oil field and the stages of production division agreement signed between the two sides in the block B2, which it is about to expire.
The State Minister at the Ministry of Oil and Gas Engineer Mahmoud Mohammed Abdul-Rahman reviewed, when he met Wednesday at his office with the Chinese Envoy for the Arab Affairs Li Cheng Wen the progress of Chinese investment in the oil field and the stages of production division agreement signed between the two sides in the block B2, which it is about to expire.

The meeting was attended by the China's ambassador to Sudan, the Acting Undersecretary and the leaders of the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

The minister stressed that the petroleum sector was a strategic depth in the relationship between Sudan and China and it would continue to lead cooperation in all fields despite the recent changes that dominated the sector such as the low prices at the global level, praising the significant role being played by China's National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in laying the foundations of the oil industry in the country.

Engineer Abdul-Rahman said that the production of the block did not exceed 20% of the oil reserve, urging China to sign new agreement with the Sudanese side in the block and increase oil production for the benefit of the two countries, referring to the efforts his ministry being exerted in resolving the outstanding issues between them.

For his part, the Chinese Envoy for Arab affairs congratulated the Sudanese people on the success of the national dialogue experience, stressing that his country gives the investment in the oil field in Sudan a particular priority, stressing that the CNPC has reduced its investments in all parts of the world except Sudan and this confirms the extent of the strategy of the relationship between the two countries.

meanwhile, China Ambassador to Sudan Li Lian announced encouragement of CNPC company to continue working with high spirit in order to increase oil production so as to push the relationship between the two countries forward, saying that the relationship between Sudan and China will witness greater prosperity, referring to the major challenges facing CNPC company in its commercial dealings worldwide due to the oil price reduction globally, stressing his support to the negotiations being held between the company and the Ministry of Oil and Gas for the renewal of production sharing agreement in the blocks, which their duration approached.
