Brescia's Stadio Mario Rigamonti, which was built in 1959 and
has a capacity of over 27,000.

Chinese investment in European football could be set for further expansion, with rumours circulating that a Chinese consortium has begun initial negotiations to purchase Italian side Brescia.

According to a report, the Serie B club have been notified of the group's preliminary interest and formal talks could take place in the coming days over a proposed sale.

The identity of the Chinese investors remains unknown and further details are yet to be released.

Based in the northern Italian region of Lombardy, Brescia enjoyed something of a purple patch at the beginning of the 21st century when they spent five consecutive seasons in Serie A, Italy's top flight.

Out of the 11 subsequent seasons however, 10 have been spent in Serie B. The club holds the unusual honour of both the most seasons (53) and most consecutive seasons (18) spent in the country's second division.
