2016-04-12
Brief:The Chinese ambassador in Guinea-Bissau said that China is ready to place thousands of Chinese business people in Guinea-Bissua.
The Chinese ambassador in Guinea-Bissau Saturday called for the need to create political stability in the West African country in order to have more Chinese investment.

Huang Wa, who was speaking in Bissau during the Meeting of Businesspeople for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries, said that China is prepared to place thousands of Chinese businesspeople in Guinea-Bissua but that a business platform that allows business to be conducted needs to be built.

The diplomat, quoted by the Portuguese-language Macau newspaper Tribuna de Macau, said that the Chinese side is ready, with technology and financial resources and has the political will to support the economic development of Guinea-Bissau with the Guinean businesspeople.

During the opening of the meeting, the President of Guinea-Bissau, José Maria Vaz, promised political stability and normal functioning of democratic institutions in order to create conditions to attract investment, given that the country offers “a handful of opportunities (…) as everything needs to be done.”

Addressing the Chinese businesspeople at the meeting, the Guinean President said he was convinced that trade and business relations may come out strengthened from this meeting by creating conditions for bilateral cooperation to be further developed and reach a new level after the Joint China/Guinea-Bissau meeting.

José Maria Vaz also mentioned Forum Macau saying it had a significant complementary role in strengthening relations between Portuguese-speaking countries and China.
