Algeria Allocates US$63 Billion For Housing Under Five-year Development Plan

Brief:The Algerian government has allocated a total of US$63 billion for housing projects under its 2010-2014 development plan.
The Algerian government has allocated a total of US$63 billion for housing projects under its 2010-2014 development plan, says Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
 
"Owing to the mobilised funds and the acceleration of the pace of construction, we will undoubtedly reduce housing deficit in the coming years," the minister told National Radio on Sunday.
 
This year will see the launch of projects for a total of 650,000 housing units and the delivery of 300,000 others, compared with the launch of construction work of some 580,000 units and delivery of 248,000 units in 2013.
 
On rural housing, Tebboune said a total of 390,000 houses had been delivered and nearly 724,000 other units were under construction out of 900,000 houses targeted under the 2010-2014 development plan.
