The 2012 Spring
Beijing Overseas Property & Investment Show was held successfully during 5th to 8th April in Beijing. About 145, 800 people visited the exhibition during the four days, an increase of 11.5% on the autumn show last year. Due to the restriction of property purchases by Chinese national locally in China many Chinese investors turned their interest to investing in overseas properties. The exhibition attracted over 130 overseas exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions.

The Chairman of
Rider Levett Bucknall (Caribbean), Mr Martyn Bould addressed the opening of the Beijing Overseas Property & Investment Show saying RLB has for the past two years been working with the Export Import Bank of China as Project Monitor on the US$3.5 billion 3000 room Baha Mar Resort in Bahamas located in the northern Caribbean, which is being built by China State Construction and Engineering Co Ltd.. Mr Martyn Bould gave a broad overview of current situation in Caribbean region, his speech aroused echoes in audience and press.

As a result of the restrictive purchasing policy in domestic property market, overseas projects have become the main trend during 2012 Spring Beijing Overseas Property & Investment Show. Chinese investors showed strong interest in overseas properties including apartment, villa, farmland and development opportunities as well as education and migration services. Such trend confirmed the surge of property purchases by Chinese investors overseas as reported on.
