China ready to further trade cooperation with Britain: Vice Premier

Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday that China is ready to further trade cooperation with Britain.

Li made the remarks during a meeting with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) President Sir David Brewer in downtown Beijing.

"China and Britain are in different stages of development. Our trade and mutual investment are highly complementary, and our cooperation is facing great potential," Li said.

China's 12th Five-Year (2011-2015) Plan will bring opportunities for bilateral cooperation, Li said, adding that the two countries should create conditions for companies' cooperation and continue to expand cooperation.

The vice premier also spoke highly of the role the CBBC has played in promoting China-Britain trade relations.

Brewer said the CBBC will continue to strengthen its business in China and contribute to the stable development of Britain-China trade relations.
