Chinese State Councilor and State Council Secretary-General Mr. Ma Kai turned on the “golden key” to open the 13th CIFIT. Chinese former Vice-Premier Mme. Wu Yi with other officials and VIPs attended the ceremony as well. |
H. E. Ambassador Rattray, Jamaican Ambassador to China and the Jamaican delegation led by Mr. Jason Hall, Manager of Caribbean, Latin America & Emerging Markets Regional Office from Jamaica Trade and Invest (JAMPRO) were invited to attend the world’s largest international investment promotion event to promote the Jamaican products such as rum, blue mountain coffee, various pepper sauces and tea and seek for international investment and cooperation as well.

The eye-catching Jamaica booth with its pretty collaterals was set up with a theme of “Jamaica to the World”, which was designed and supported by China Business Network. A great many Chinese visitors and other exhibitors were attracted by the finger-popping reggae music, the real life cutout of the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt, and took a great interest in the various Jamaican pepper sauces presented for the first time in China and would like to taste the world famous blue mountain coffee.

On behalf of Jamaica, Mr. Jason Hall also attended the Latin America and Caribbean regions presentation part of Briefings on Investment Climate and Policies of Foreign Countries and Regions. He gave a 20 minutes presentation on Jamaica tourism, industry, culture, sports, entertainment, etc. and welcomed international investment and cooperation as well.
This was the second time for Jamaica Trade and Invest (JAMPRO) as an exhibitor to attend China International Fair for Investment and Trade, one of China's most influential international platforms for the promotion of investment since Jamaica has become the ADS destination for Chinese travellers, which will prompt more Chinese businessmen to eye Jamaica and bring economic and trade relations between China and Jamaica ever closer.
