March 27, 2009, "Chinese - Sri Lanka investment promotion conference" was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Beijing, Information Center of CCPIT-Beijing and the China Light Industry and Exhibition Center. The conference mainly introduced Sri Lanka's investment environment, the investment preferential policy and a variety of business opportunities. Many enterprises who want to expand business in Sir Lanka's market attended the conference.

The conference was hosted by Alexi Gunasekera, commercial counselor of Sri Lanka Embassy, welcome speech by Sri Lankan ambassador Mr. Amunugama, then, Deputy Department Chief of Sri Lankan Board of Investment, Kulesekera, who takes charge of foreign investment and economic cooperation mainly introduced Sri Lanka's investment environment, the investment preferential policy and a variety of business opportunities. Huawei on behalf of successful Chinese enterprises investing Sri Lanka introduced the company's investment experience.

During the conference, Sri Lanka government officials anwered the relevant questionss asked by Chinese enterprises, questions and answers focus on the fishing industry and the latest preferential policies, visas and so on.
